How does an ADHDer heal from ableist harm and navigate a world that was not designed for their neurotype? I promote a multi-dimensional understanding. In this workshop, I invite counsellors and therapists to explore the complex landscape of ADHD
Presenter: Cheryl Leong
Masking’ is an adapted set of intrapsychic, socio-behavioral and relational patterns that hide or minimize ADHD in order to adjust to neurotypical standards or familial/societal norms.
This workshop will explore ‘masking’ with the ADHD population, its clinical presentation as well as impact on life scripts, development of impasses, transference material and other challenges. We will facilitate a discussion on de-pathologising ADHD and propose ‘neurodiversity’ as a therapeutic value. Some specific TA inspired therapeutic interventions will be suggested for addressing impasses and cathecting the Natural Child.
Presenters: Cheryl Leong & Romy Graichen
